Stephanie Farrell, Writer

Stephanie Farrell hopes her love of writing is infectious. Since leaving her job as Vice President at Citibank to be at home with her kids in 2001, Farrell has been a freelance writer, editor and writing teacher. She has been a regular contributor to The Daily Journal and specializes in feature articles. Her essay about her mother’s diagnosis and death from cancer was published in Brain, Child Magazine. She successfully completed an intensive two year Christian Writer's Guild program. Farrell edits multiple newsletters and articles. She has discovered that writing about it--whatever “it” is--always helps. She is working on several projects, In Stitches about how quilting helped with grieving, and Tell Me about Nana, a collection of stories about her mom specifically for the family.

Farrell also teaches writing classes to high school students in an enrichment program. Some of those class titles are Creative Writing, College Prep Writing, Writing 101 and Newsletter Writing. In her newsletter course, the students publish 16 issues a year and learn all different types of article styles (how to, opinion, review, feature, etc.) A voracious reader, Farrell is part of a local book club and has written dozens of book reviews. More than anything, she hopes to empower women and help them to find joy in expressing themselves in the written word.
